Apartment Review for Center Ridge Apartments

THERE ARE ROACHES!!!! Yes, that's right it's not a typo. Also when i moved into the apartment, it was not ready but they told me it was. All the cabinets had dirt and dead bug carcasses in them. The AC unit did not work and i had to wait 2 weeks for a new compressor, there were holes in the walls, and the fixtures that came with the unit were poorly fastened to the walls. Because i was a new tenant, i really did not have too much trouble getting the initial issues resolved. However, i did encounter issues with other requests. For example: we had a dead animal outside of the apartment and it took them 3 days to remove it. There is always trash scattered on the ground and the sidewalk areas throughout the complex are not maintained well. My biggest beef is that it is now 6/23/09 and our pool has yet to open. When i inquire about it, management always has some bogus excuse as to why it is not yet opened. I spoke with another tenant who told me the pool hasnt been opened since 2006! Wow... talk about false advertisement because i specifically inquired about the pool when i was looking to rent. Also... there is no tennis court. However, there is a cement pad that used to accomodate 2 basketball hoops but the hoop part has been removed and the kids can no longer ball there. Instead, because there is no recreation for the children who live here, they fight. The Duncanville police frequently visits our little community because the adolesents have nothing better to do but get into it with oneanother. Oh, and here's the icing on the cake... i see kids rolling and smoking weed on a regular basis ~and no one says of does a thing. If you on section 8, i'm sure you'll qualify to live here, but if you're not then you will probably find yourself extremely dissatisified with this apartment community. RENTERS BEWARE!!!!
