Not Too Bad

my boyfriend and i have been living in these apartments since may and our experience hasn't been too bad.
the staff has treated us with nothing but kindness and respect. on our second week, there was a problem with the shower and i called the number on the lease. the problem was fixed the same day within 30 minutes. besides that, we haven't had any other problems with anything breaking or anything.
the apartments themselves are pretty old, and the fact that they just paint over things masks it at the beginning but you notice a few things once you are settled in. the sinks have been rusting through the paint and we've had some problems with paint chipping but that's really our only problem with the condition.
the parking is kind of a problem because we are right in front of the university, but they've begun to get strict with the towing policy, so it's not TOO bad anymore. we can usually get good parking if we don't get home late in the night.
the noise level is moderate. you can hear things in the hall but for the most part, we don't have any problems. maybe we just live on the right part of the building though because i've heard these were party apartments haha.
they're relatively safe, but the doors are pretty flimsy and they look like they are easy to break.
overall, these apartments have a month to month option with no extra charge and they don't do a background check. el paso is pretty safe, but just take these things into account when you look into renting here. we've had no big problems, just don't forget to lock your door, car, and don't leave windows open when you leave. basically take the same precautions that you would anywhere else.
the pest control guys come every last wednesday of the month so we haven't had any pest problems either.
it's close to the university so mostly young people live here. it's right by mesa, turn right and you get to downtown. turn left and you get to all the hip bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and bike shops. traffic is a bit of a problem when school is going on, but nothing major. we moved from california so this is a piece of cake compared to out there!
i hear you can rent houses for less around here, but we like being right by the school because it's practically on campus and as a result, the area is always being watched.
anyway, not too bad for what you pay.
