Apartment Review for Shadow Ridge

Let me start by saying we seemed to be unfortunate enough to have gotten one of the much older buildings, I do know they have nicer renovated buildings at this apartment. With that being said, I am honestly excited to leave. I was really looking forward to living here, my husband was still deployed and I was treated very well by the office staff who worked hard to get me a place before he came back. Then I entered the apartment. The appliances are from the 60's at best. The building was probably one of the first buildings, and has clearly not been updated since. There was rust/mold behind the toilet, bubbling paint and leaks above the shower, you could feel the floor sink in many areas and NOTHING was level (towel rack, light fixtures, etc). Although you really can't hear your neighbor next to you, you can hear everything going on outside and you can hear EVERY foot step the unit above you makes. Parking can be a nightmare if you don't come in at a certain time at night. The kitchen is the smallest kitchen I think I have ever seen, there is no possible way to have more than one person in there at a time. I like to be optimistic though and think that this is just an unfortunate circumstance, and would recommend this apartment IF you make sure to get a newer building. The grounds are very nice, the pool (at least near the office) is generally kept very clean, I love the big windows in the bedrooms, the A/C was rather efficient, and we did at least have updated faucets, ceiling fan and lights. For me though, I feel I could have gotten a lot more for what I was paying.
