Here is just an idea of what we have been through here. We plan to move out as soon as the lease is up. Check out the other sites that rate apartments because everyone here is worried about the staff having our personal information and all the break-ins. It's like Colonial Properties is paying someone to break into these apartments....
Kylee,
At no time did we receive any notices of Crime Watch programs here at Belterra. We have only received a letter stating that break ins had occurred and some helpful hints. Chad came home one night from work and saw another resident taking pictures of exposed electrical panels, breezeway lights out, and what he considered to be safety and security violations in the complex. You are correct that break ins occur everywhere, however we find it surprising that they occur as frequently as they do here. For whatever reason this complex seems to be targeted, the south gate being forced open for example. When is this getting fixed? Increased patrols by Fort Worth PD are good, but only seem to come during the day and not at night when the majority of break ins occur. The only thing we received on concerning Wednesday evening was that they were taking resident pictures at a cost to the resident (one free print with purchase), nothing about a dinner or a Crime Watch meeting. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, but we seem to file a complaint with the corporate office and our phone service and internet mysteriously go down or is rerouted through Southwestern Bell as determined by the One Source technician.
Also, the mold problem still remains in the bathroom and is showing through the quick paint touch that was done about two weeks ago. Painting is not the solution to the problem, the actual mold needs to be removed by cutting out that part of the wall and replacing the wall&then painting. As I had stated in my previous e-mail, if my children go back on breathing treatments due to the mold Belterra Apartments, Colonial Properties and you will be held responsible. We also continue to have the spider problem, yesterday I killed several in the home so the place needs to be sprayed again. The dishwasher is still shooting dirty water, it is not the dishes because I hand washed some and ran the load, they came out dirty. You may need to check the pipes or have the dishwasher replaced. We dont understand why there seems to be reoccurring problems.
We sincerely want to work with you and Colonial Properties. We have good neighbors and enjoy the school district, but just feel that nothing is getting done. Please let us know when these problems will be resolved so we can move on and stop e-mailing you and the corporate office every week about issues that are covered up and unresolved.
Sincerely,
Khristina Downing

Mr. and Mrs. Downing-
We did receive your complaint and I would like to invite you into the office to speak with me regarding your concerns. Recently, we have put out several requests for residents to attend and help assist a Crime Watch program for Belterra. We have not heard from you regarding these requests. Unfortunately, crime and car break-ins occur everywhere. If we come together as a community and offer awareness and support, we could reduce our risks. I attended two city wide Crime Watch programs in October and the tips/information they provide you is truly helpful. The chain on the front gate did break Sunday evening. The soonest the gate welder could get to Belterra was today. He will be here at 2pm to remedy the gate challenge. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you that our first priority is to you and the rest of our residents here at Belterra.
We hope to see you tonight at the Resident Portrait Appreciation dinner.
Thank you-
