What happens when the manager tries to save money by only having two dumpsters on the property which are dumped once a week? The dumpsters overflow. There are trash piles all over. Residents are fined if their trash is found outside of the dumpster. If theres no room for your trash, you have to take it elsewhere. If there is room, then you risk someone removing your trash and replacing it with theirs, leaving yours on the ground. Did I mention youd be fined for that? What happens if your apartment is infested with bugs? Nothing! Sure youll be told and they will even put up notices that they are going to spray, but you can expect them to only actually do it about 1/3 of the time, if youre lucky. What happens when criminals break into residents' mailboxes? The post office stops delivering your mail until the boxes are fixed. Do worry youll only have to go to the post office for your mail for a couple of weeks. Thats how long it takes for the apartment personnel to fix the mailboxes. Oh and did I mention that you can only pick up your mail during the post office service hours. I hope your boss doesnt mind you taking off work early so you can get to the post office before it closes. What happens when the manager makes a mistake and tells you that you can do something and then later she finds out that it's not allowed? You will be fined and she will lie, lie, lie to her boss, saying that she never told you that. You can write a letter and give it to her to give her boss but dont expect her to actually do it. Also, dont ask her who the regional manger, the management company name, or the apartment owners name. She wont tell you. I can only assume that she withholds this information because she doesnt want them to know what is really happening on the property. Don't park in your own parking spot. Even if your car has the orange parking sticker slapped on its windshield, they'll tow it. It will cost you $250 to get it back on the very same day it was towed. The stickers mean nothing, but youre required to have one on your car anyway. God forbid you have a rental car for the day. Want to be bothered 24 hours a day? Downstairs hears every step taken upstairs. Upstairs will hear every program on the television or stereo downstairs. Want to wake up every two hours because of car alarms and people honking their horns? Want to wake up early on the week ends to the sound of lawn mowers and weed eaters? Want to pay more for your apartment than anyone who moves in after you? Want your rent to go up every time your lease up? Rent price cuts are not passed on to current residents. A new person moving in will pay 30 to 75 dollars less a month then your renewal rate. Want to feel like you and your family are in danger? This is the place for you. Building door locks are routinely broken. Entrance security cameras haven't worked for years. Were told that there is a security officer who patrols the premises but I have yet to see one. Think they replace A/C filters? Think again. If you want it replaced then youll have to take time off work and hope that there is someone in the office when you get there who will give you one. Then you have to replace it yourself. Want to pay high costs in utilities? This is the place for you. A 1/2 inch gap in insulation ensures that wind will blow right under the front door and the balcony door. Do you like to take a shower while trying to get to your car from the building? The water sprinklers are continuously being broken, creating geysers that shoot up over the front door of buildings. Are they immediately fixed? Nope. Also, this complex has no interest in following city water conservation orders during droughts. Because water costs are spread to residents, you can watch your money flow through the complex then down the street into the gutters. Want to watch gang members drive by? Want to see children taking a dump between your building and the one next to yours? Want to see a toilet sitting outside by the front door for days before anyone does anything about it? Like to be mislead? Wait until they put up notices saying they are going to repaint and repair balconies. It wont happen, dont even expect it to. Want your drawers to fall out every time you go to open them. Want to see other peoples junk stacked outside their front door and on the balconies. Want a manager that comes in late in the morning, takes 2-hour lunch breaks, and then leaves long before 5 p.m?
