Convenient Shopping And Friendly Family Neighbors

This older apartment community is broken into 2 complexes on either side of Cedar Post Lane south of Westview and just west of Blalock. The property has ample, though small laundry facilities, pools, somewhat limited but mostly covered(some uncovered) unassigned parking, and is fenced and gated.
Maintenance for plumbing has been prompt, and I have had no problems with roaches, or other vermin, as they regularly spray. The outer appearance may seem a bit weathered, but the interiors and appliances are in fairly good condition though not new (after visiting some neighbor's units)and have amenities such as dishwasher, disposal, and ceiling fans. Both DSL and Cable internet are available.
Local area shopping is very convenient, with Randall's across the street, Fiesta just south, and Memorial City mall within bicycling distance (but beware the sidewalks and crazy drivers). Banking is close (in Randall's Wells Fargo, Fiesta has Citibank, or nearby other branches on Blalock or south on feeder of I-10). This complex is close to I-10, but not on it, although in the coming year(s) there will be some construction to expand I-10 in the Spring Branch area that may cause some access delays then. It is also close to the beltway and 290.
The community seems very safe and has an Hispanic family basis that makes itself at home with gatherings and music, and happy children playing futbol in the common areas after school. They are usually respectful, and exterior noises don't usually continue after reasonable hours.

(the ceilings may be a bit thin and allow reverberating rumbles and window shaking when the family upstairs is running around after children, or Hubby/Mummy has to get up early in the morning and inconsiderately stomps around clumsily. Or runs from one end of the apartment to the other for whatever unknown mission. Or throws bundles of heavy objects around at odd hours creating more shock waves that rattle ceiling fans and windows... this is my greatest peeve obviously #@*^% so check on where you are going to live if you like to sleep past 5:30 am...)

Family seems to be the rule here, but a few older couples and singles are in the friendly mix.
Police are never highly visible in the area, but not absent either. I have been out in the area at various times even until early morning and have never noticed any problems with loitering or roving, and gang tags are on some local businesses, but aren't overtly engaging or threatening (no thugs out to back them up).
The #72 bus route runs north on Blalock and the #20 is close on Longbranch, so if you don't feel like driving, mass transit is a breeze.
Overall, this is not a bad place to live due to the location and responsiveness of the staff, along with the safe and friendly family atmosphere, although if you are looking for a primped newer resort, this is definitely not it. Oh yeah, be prepared to wade or jump over puddles and streams if it rains real good, because the inner courtyards don't seem to have adequate drainage (but this is a common problem with Houston in general.
