Do NOT move here

We were excited to move into the apartments at first, but we soon realized our mistake. There are a few good things about them, their nice, the maintenance is good, and the grounds are always clean, and the apartments themselves aren't bad, but that's it.

Before we moved in we checked at their website and it stated "Six Phone Lines with Fiber-Optic High Speed Internet Access Capability", their brochure states they have FIOS, but guess what, it's Ygnition. They even told us personally that they had FIOS. Ygnition contracts out with apartment complexes so noone else can come in and provide internet access such as ATT. Ygnition rents lines out with internet backbone providers such as Time Warner, but these internet lines are low end and provide very little speed. Here at The Villas on the Green they provide 2 T1 lines that are SHARED with everyone else in the entire complex, that's right SHARED. A T1 is typically used for about 10 people in a business environment, not residential usage requiring much more bandwidth. So your getting the equivalent of a mid range DSL internet connection thats shared with hundreds of other people, definitely NOT FIOS/Fiber and DEFINATELY false advertisement. If you like to download things on torrents, then forget living here because they will shut your internet off without prior notice, only an email. How the **** are you supposed to know it got shut off when your email doesn't work? And then they want to charge you a 25$ fee to turn it back on. Any over use of the internet whatsoever they will shut it off, uploading videos or lots of pictures to family, anything they deem site affecting. Fiber my ***. I spent months attempting to call their management about their false advertisement, or atleast requested to know what company they used for fiber but all I got was "we will call you back" by their "Head of Technology".

Parking, oh god. For the first 6 months we lived there we had serious parking issues, and now it's just an issue. For quite a while we had to park half of the complex away because of just one tenant constantly having parties and 2-3 extra cars parked in the extra lots, and those were even about 100 yards away. So for 6 months atleast one of my roommates had to park 300 yards away from the apartment every single day. Now we just have to park 100+ yards away, so if you are thinking about getting a 3 bedroom with roommates then one of you will always have to walk and park a good distance away from the apartment, and the other two will constantly be having to move their cars for each other because of the single garages/driveways.

When we attempted to move out after our 7 month lease we were unable to because our lease agreement said 13 months, and we were like huh? So after 9 months total I found our original move-in addendum and it did in fact say 7 months. Before we had originally moved into the apartments they had called us, and requested that we change apartments because of another tenant needing to move in right away, we said yes to be courteous, that's when they changed the lease terms to 13 months and we didn't notice. So after the two extra months we finally got them to agree to let us leave, but with a 60 day notice. On top of that we had to pay back rent for being month to month those two extra months. So we were finally ready to leave and a financial disaster struck and we were unable to move elsewhere. So we went back to the complex and asked if we could withdraw the notice, thankfully they said yes but stated that the place had been pre-leased. They asked the other tenant and he said no they wouldn't take a different apartment, that they liked the location of the one they were shown, what a *****, anyways we got a better apartment with nicer floors/bathrooms/location. But, we had to stay in the same craptastic internet apartments.

On the night of Thanksgiving our neighbor, an ugly middle aged possibly mildly retarded lady had attempted suicide with a dull piece of glass. She came to our door and attempted to hand me a note. She was drunk, bleeding, and stunk like ***. She said she wanted me to call the number on the note she was trying to hand me so I screamed at her to put it on the ground, which seemed like the best thing to do since she interrupted our episode of 24. I'll never forget her confusion and asking "Are you serious?". When she finally went away I noticed she had bled all over our door and the doorway, called the cops, and off she went. Didn't even bother picking up the note, just told the cop it was in front of my door. Next day I called the apartment complex and told them about the blood, they said the cops would clean it off if I had told them, which I did. A week went by and noone cleaned it off, So I put in a work order to have it removed since the office was astonished that we were told the cops would do it. It stayed there for 3 more months, and guess what THE BLOOD IS STILL THERE even after they charged us $130 for painting, and the new tenants have already moved in. Also on the matter of crazy people, before they moved out there was a lady with 8 kids that constantly knocked on our door and ran off, peddled for cash, and were a complete nuisance.

So we move out and into the new apartment at the same complex, they gave us an easy move-in special(7 days free) but are now charging us for the washer/drier that we previously had free. We cleaned the previous apartment well and only got charged $40 for cleaning, but that was inconsequential to the other charges. We were charged $130 dollars for painting, when the state requires them to repaint anyways, $1015 for new carpet, and $12 for 4x drop pans that I don't even know what they are. The carpet was brand new when we moved in, and was pristine when we moved out. Apparently the lease addendum's supersedes the TAAS lease contracts on the painting issue, and they also agreed to show why the carpet cleaners weren't able to clean the carpet and a bill from the carpet replacement company. Guess they got their ripoff bases covered.

So, horrible internet with false advertising, suicidal neighbors, refusal to clean the blood off our door, horrible parking, and a HUGE bill after move out, you can see why the summary of this rating is "Do not move here". I'm sure they know who we are, and we don't care cause we hate their f***** complex/company.
