Review for Ashley Oaks Apartments

I lived in these apartments for 7-8 months. Overall things weren't that bad, but they weren't that great either. We lived in the Annex part off of Rough Oak, and were right next to the pool. Being a younger couple, if there were parties or noise in the parking lot, we were always to blame. Granted I had a couple get togethers, but never during the week. We also tried to be considerate of our neighbors. At the end of our lease, we didn't want to move. However, the incentive to stay was nothing. They refused to lower our rent or give us anything to keep us there. When we left I steam cleaned the carpets and also cleaned the apartment really well. They never notified me to let me know that we owed a balance for them cleaning our carpets and also the apartment. It wasn't until 3 months later, I was notified by a collections agency telling me that I had failed to pay $320.00 for cleaning and repair fees. I have since had to make a payment plan and it has been impossible for my ex roomate to find a place to live since this is on our credit. When I spoke with the collections agency about not being informed for 3 months about owing the apartment company, they told me it was not the apartments job to track down the people that owe them money, that is why they have collection agencies. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. There are much better deals around this area, and had I known what I know now, I would have def. gone somewhere else!
