Apartment Reviews for Country View
Honesty is the best policy.

The price is reasonable and the apartments do not look too bad. Management was always friendly. However, this place does have its drawbacks. It is located basically on the corner of a busy Interstate (I-45) with combination gas stations/ convenience stores/fast food and mini truck stop on the corners.(Prostitutes have been known to "work" the truck stop). There are two small "dollar stores", and a post office. There is a musty old "public library" that looks like it is about to fall down. The police station is located next door as well as the volunteer fire/ambulance. The nearest grocery store is about 10 miles away. But you can buy some groceries (very limited selection) from the dollar store or greasy fast food from the combo gas/convenience/fast food stores. The noise from the interstate and the BOOM BOOM of the car stereos that play rap or tejano music does not make it easy for you to sleep during the day if you work nights. You can hear your neighbors open and close their doors, you can hear them walk upstairs, and if they talk loud or have an argument you hear everything. Maintenance is not that great either. There is no cable or DSL. You need a sattelite in order to get more than 4 channels. The have a pool.. but it is small. There are no W/D hookups but they do have a laundromat on site. Just be sure not to leave your clothes unattended and only use 2 washers at a time. The office AND the laundromat are closed on weekends... Weekends being the only free time when most people can do laundry. So you must wash during the week or drive to the next town to use a laundromat. The apartments may be 10 minutes from down town which is good if you have a good dependable car as there are NO bus lines for this area and a Taxi cab will cost you an arm & a leg.. maybe even 2 legs. Everyplace has its good and bad points. This place is not as loud as someother places that charge $700 or more but it is not an ideal place either. Honesty is the best policy. <P>

I think they have worked on most everything that is complained of here. I never heard my neighbors talking, music or anything and I lived next to a teenager! His mom worked nights and slept days and didn't seem to have a problem. It's true that the laundry facilities are closed on the weekends but during the week they're open late and I've seen many people leave their items and then come back for them. The small playground is right next to it so I would just do mine as the kids played. There are two stores the Family Dollar and Dollar General and they have changed their inventory to meet more of the needs of the community. As for the Library... I Love It!! The staff was awesome, super friendly, even when my kids were rowdy they never gave a harsh look. They have free internet access and it didn't seem as if it was falling down to me. So.. since Honesty is the Best Policy..that's what I'm giving you!
Honesty is the best policy and I appreciate yours. Yes we do not have much to offer as towns go but with things such as bus lines and grocery stores comes more traffic and noise. I do what I can to see that all my residents enjoy their stay at Country View and hope in spite of all our draw backs you enjoyed yours too.
