Apartment Review for Hillrise Apartments

I want to warn all who are considering moving into these apartments. We moved in thinking we would be living in a smoke-free apartment since one of the major agreements on the lease was no smoking in or around the buildings. However, we were soon proven wrong. We had a neighbor who smoked inside of his apartment and the air flowed directly into ours leaving our rooms, clothes, bed,everything smelling like someone was standing inside our apt smoking 5 packs a day. We hoped our manager would do something about the situation (especially since multiple tenants we're affected and complaining about it) but frustratingly nothing ever happened (besides a warning given) and we lived in a smoke house for the remaining 4 months of our lease.

Also, we are very tidy and respectful people. We left out apartment in far better condition than when we moved it (when we moved in the baseboards were filthy,the tile was muddy, and the fridge was dirty). Yet we did not get one cent of our deposit back because it was "not clean".

I don't usually do this. In fact, this is my first time writing a negative review. But this experience was that awful that I really wanted to get my word out so that,in the very least,management might be motivated to be more proactive in keeping their apartments smoke free and taking care of their tenants.
