Review for Brighton Place Apartments

My husband and I have lived at Brighton Place Apartments for nearly a year now. We recognized a screaming deal for a one room apartment at $550. We, of course, signed for a year. The ladies in the office were helpful as I signed my lease and paid my deposit.

After about two days in the apartment, it became clear we were going to have issues. Our apartment balcony, front door and windows all face the Chinese restaurant in front of the complex. The restaurant leaves the dumpster lid open for their convenience and you can imagine the smells in the summer as all the seafood cooks in the dumpster. After calls to the office and the restaurant, we finally gave up and kept our windows and doors shut when at all possible.

While I am grateful that there is no smoking allowed in the apartments, imagine having an upstairs neighbor that constantly throws old butts off the side of his balcony on to yours. Again, calls to the office resulted in nothing.

Lastly&# as we went to re-sign our lease we were met with a staggering 150 dollar increase. No-negotiating.

As previously mentioned in another post, beware of things that seem too good to be true. The pool is constantly closed or overwhelmingly full with family parties. The club house costs 50 dollars to use and the work out room has never had more than two aerobic machines working at a time.

The on call maintenance is great if you call them directly. Avoid going through the office, messages often get lost.
