Review for Braewood Apartments

If you choose to live here, be prepared to handle any problems on your own. Management will NOT do anything. Dog crap all over the premises, smoke coming through your swamp cooler, loud pounding music at night, fist fights in the parking lot at 3 am, etc. Your actual apartment managers will be the police, not the person who handles your lease. The onsite manager has no authority, and the real manager is unwilling to enforce the apartment rules that you sign up to.
If you are told that smoking is restricted to 25 feet from the building, you are being lied to. About 75% of the tenants smoke, and they do so on their patios and in the stairwells. So be prepared for smoke to come through the swamp cooler and fill your apartment. Hopefully you don't have children.
Maintenance is only onsite twice a week, so if your heater breaks down in winter, be prepared to freeze for hours waiting for the "emergency" maintenance to arrive.
Also, as others have already explained, the place has HORRIBLE insulation (which adds to the smoker problem as well as the gas bill). If you are a drunk chain-smoking pet owner with a big screen tv and a stereo system that doesn't match your income, and you plan to move in with 2 other buddies in order to scrape up the rent, then look no further.
