Different Management? Who Could Tell

I spent over 5 hours in the past 3 days trying to rent an apartment from these guys. The first time that I went in they said that although they have vacancies they would not permit to rent until the end of August because it was past the move in date. I thought this was odd so I went back over there day later and they said that I would could move in they just would not prorate my rent for the days that I did not live there. Not great but oh well what are you going to do. I fill out all of the paper work and give them my deposit of $250 and processing and application fee of $135. I am then told that I need to provide my last 2 pay stubs as well as the last 90 days of bank statements. This seems a bit much but hey its my first apartment so what do I know.
Finally after filling out my application and paying them this money they run my credit score. Come to find out I do not have enough credit history, no big surprise I am 18 years old who does.
Then they tell me that I have to have a guarantor sign for me who has good credit. No big deal, thats what parents are for.
I call my mother and have her fill out the guarantor form which she also have to have notarized just incase I am lying, then they make my mom fax over her last 2 check stubs, and the last 90 days of her bank statement. At this point they have the complete financials of everyone in my family.

This is where things get really crazy...
They try to run my moms credit 4 times only to have it come back that she has no credit. Not bad credit, not good credit, just no credit. On the 5th time it goes through and they tell me the great news... I am approved! all I have to do is pay another $100 deposit because my moms credit is not good enough. Here is the funny thing when I told my mom this she faxed over her most recent credit score from the three credit agencies, it is 785. I looked online that is really good, better than most in fact.
So I asked why on earth do I need to pay an extra $100? Here is the answer, are you ready for this? Because my mom moved to a new town about 6 months ago. That is it that is the whole reason. So I feel defeated what else can I do other than pay an extra $100. While driving to the bank I recieve a call from on of the rental agents informing me that since I am moving 5 days past the move in Date I will need to pay all of Junes Rent, and July rent at the same time.

What the &%$@!

Here is the grand total for an 18 year old college student are you ready for this:
Deposit- $350
Application fee- $135
first and last months rent- $770
the full day I had to take of work to do all of this and lost wages- $80

Brining the grand total to: $1335

Please I beg you. Tell your friends about this place, do not let them rent here, Do not support this complex, they are dishonest and have no clear written policies on how much they have rent and when it is due. They just seem to make it up as they go.

My only wish is that this website allowed me to rate using negative numbers.
