Review for Winter Haven Apartments

Winter Haven has problems with drunks and most of the people here are inactive LDS. I have even had to call the police because people tried to get into my room and the manager tells me that I am harassing the tenants because I called the police for my safety when a girl at 11:00 at night pounded on my door telling me she was not leaving until she got in my room and I have had the tenants throw my mail away and over heat the house while standing on the balcony, I had them leave fish on the table with a bogus note saying please take care of my fish and another saying you can't have fish here. They were trying to get me evicted just because I tolled the manager that one of the boys was brakeing the contract by staying and shower in apartment 8 in building 2 every day. This is a party building and the tenants are really bad because most of the good tenants left. They even lock the bathroom door on one of the 3 bathrooms so we can't use the only tub and the other two bathrooms have bad mold. You can smell it in one and see it on the ceiling in the other. I have lived in 2 apartments here and the other one had such bad mold that when they finally got to it the wall started to cave in. The gym is not good if you use the tredmill for more than 20 minutes it shuts off. The elevator gets broken by some of the rough characters here. I even talked to the repair man who has never seen an elevator so messed up by people. At one time a girl in a wheel chair on the 3rd floor could not use the elevator for at least a month. I felt bad for people on the 4th floor. Their is a lot of harassment here and the manager wants to make money so they don't enforce the rules pluse it's no BYU approved. Don't be surprised if your roommates talk about perversion or make fun of the LDS church here. Not worth the money living here many are moving out. Most of my roommates don't even go to UVSC and thy try to evict people if they don't fit in that's what happened to the last girl that had my place. Also if you complain to the manager she will automatically think it's your fault because your complaining. The underground parking starts to fill with water when it snows or rains. Also when you pay in cash for rent they won't give you cash back they put it towards your next rent. Some times the first floor smells like BO to.

As the new Manager of Winter haven, I hope to prevent such things from happening. I remember hearing about all these situations and can say that there are two sides to every story. A lot of those situations were out of the managers hands. We do enforce the BYU Standards, however we do not monitor that halls all night long and rely on our tenants to let us know when the rules are being broken so that we may enforce them. Roommate problems are always a common thing in Student Housing. It can not be helped. I feel that people don't have to stay if they don't get along with their roommates. Katie was a very difficult person to get a long with.
