Inexpensive But Kind Of Crappy

Ok, it's like this . . . First off, the apartments are super big and inexpensive for the amount of space you're getting. Also, the locked front door is a nice security feature and the apartments are super quiet, especially at night. Also, you get free cable and your gas paid for! Finally, it is walking distance from the University of Utah. Just on that basis, you might want to rent it. But, there are a few issues . . .

Parking -- on the weekends, good luck finding any that isn't in a red zone or a block away! I've often refused to leave the buidling late at night b/c I'm afraid of losing my parking spot.

Maintainance -- these people just don't understand this concept. I've had things broken in my apartment that took upwards of 3 months to fix, even after requesting it multiple times. The building only staffs one old guy to do all the work, and he seems to be a little dazed most of the time. Also, I've had problems as bad as a continually leaky faucet/toilet, badly stained carpets (plan on steam cleaning them if you move in) and even doors painted so thick that I've been trapped in rooms before! Also, the general appearance of the place is just very poor too, with the bleached white walls and super old appliances.

Office Staff -- Simply put, I pretty much hate the staff. There's one blonde girl in there that is super nasty all the time about pretty much everything. She seems put out every time she has to open the door to let me in, make out a receipt for my rent, etc. Also, there is a little fat man with a goatee ( I think he's the owner's son or something) that gripes about something to me every time he sees me walking out the door of the front lobby. Usually, it's when I'm in a hurry too. He is even rude enough that I've heard him swear at and verbally abuse the tenants over things as mundane as moving a couch in the elevator.

Okay, so, like I said, it is cheap but has issues. If you're just looking for a cheap place to lay your head at night (i.e, college student), this is a reasonably good place for you. But, if you have a family or plan to spend more than about 2 hours during the day inside your apartment, I would recommend that you find something else.

Hope this helps!
