Do Not Rent Here

My wife and I moved in here in October of 2004, which we thought was a great idea, because of the underground parking, seemingly secure grounds, cheap rent for lower income familes, and the rooms have washers/dryers.

All I can say is, stay away. The staff is friendly and helpful up until you've moved in and signed their contract, then they've got you by the balls. They don't call back, they say they are going to do something, and then don't do it. It's like a slap in the face.

If you call security, you might get a response in a few hours. The gate that lets you in and out of the parking lot breaks, and doesn't get fixed until they wake up the maintenance guy. If you have to be up for work, but you can't get out, your screwed. The other half of the time your coming home and the entry is broken and you can't park you car. Better park it on the street where it'll get towed or stolen out of. The homeless shelter is right across the street.

My car was vandalized in the 'secure' parking lot. I have to pay extra for a parking space, since me and my wife have two cars. I called the security guy, he didn't call me back for days, he basically said 'too bad so sad' The apartments didn't offer to repair the damage or even help with it. They said they had cameras . .yeah one facing the elevator entrance and another facing the elevators . .not the cars. There is no security, they need a parking attendant and a parking security guy (BTW, security is some rent a cop company that doesn't do much . .they are not northgate employees, they don't care)

I have seen the 'security' people sleeping numerous times, in their car.

You hear everything in these apartments . .. the trains are loud, the people all around you go bump in the night. Our neighbors consist of the folloing types of people : There's a gorilla living upstairs that stomps around waking up our baby, there's the guys nextdoor that play the rap music loud and roll up weed on their porch, there's the screaming morons at 2 am that yell in the halls and ring your doorbells in a drunken haze every weekend.

You complain about the noise, and the managment does nothing, it's like they ignore you. We've complained about upstairs numerous times, but the gorilla still inhabits his domain.

The carpets are junk and pull up, cheap blinds on your outside door break off and fall off, the vinyl tile stains if you put a rug in your bathroom. The smallest dishwashers you've ever seen. When someone cooks something, the entire floor smells terrible . .the halls smell of garbage . . .A couple of apartments have had BLACK MOLD infections . .The air quality inside the apartment is as bad as it is OUTSIDE . . there's too many things to list . . . don't rent here unless your willing to deal with all this.

The only good things about the apartments is we are moving out....
