We moved here from Wisconsin and didn't have much of a chance to really check anything out. Sky Harbor looked like a decent place and we signed the lease...which was 100 pages long and made you feel like you were signing your life and any rights away. When we opened our apartment for the first time it was furnished (which we didn't request) and the toilet was broken and running all over the bathroom. From there it just went downhill. There is paint covering the carpet near the walls from the sloppy job, the fridge/freezer needs to be defrosted at least once a month to close the door, the water heater is a 15 gallon tank so you have 8 minutes of hot water, the heating/cooling units clog after two weeks use, the windows have no insulation and make cost us about $120/month to heat a 500sq ft apartment, the walls are paper-thin, our neighbors had an arguement that resulted in violence and when I called Sky Harbor they told me to call the police because they weren't goign to get involved, a standard size cooking pan doesn't fit in the miniture oven, half of the time we were here the hot tub was "down for repairs", the laundry prices went up $.50 per load in six months, the pool is never cleaned and full of hair, you have a 10% chance of talking to someone friendly at the office, they do have 24 hour security but most of the time they are sitting in the community room or in their cars talking on their cells phones, you have one day to pay your rent and then you are charged a $50 late fee no exceptions (most apartments have a five day grace period), when you sign your 60 day notice for moving out you have to sign a long contract that states " by signing this agreement you give consent for Sky Harbor to enter your apartment to check for any damages without notice or warning during the next 60 days", and they couldn't care less about you or any situation you might encounter, as long as you pay. We parked our scooter under covered parking and it got spray-painted..where was security? Sky Harbor took no responsibilty for the damages and refused to help in anyway. There is no way that we would stay here for one day longer than our lease specifies.
