Management was the worst I have ever seen

My air conditioner broke in the middle of summer, and I had no hot water anywhere in my apartment for over two month. In addition, I suffered from ant infestations, broken doors, cracks in the wall, little maintenance problems, and I was robbed in May. When I moved in at the beginning of January, Management assured me it would have everything "fixed" within two weeks, and that they were slow because they had changed owners. Seven months later, nothing was complete. At one point, despite two bottles of Drano, the shower backlogged, and bits of debris came back up the pipe into the tub.

I decided to make a drastic decision and in August 2007, I moved to a different apartment in the complex. That same day - in the newly remodeled apartment, the air conditioner ceased to function. The next day, I was locked out of my apartment with my cat trapped inside due to new locks placed on the doors. Despite calling the office three times, leaving two messages on the emergency line, I never received a return phone call and was forced to call a locksmith, who charged me $55.00 to break into my own home. I was not reimbursed.

I spoke with the on-site manager and asked her why nothing worked in the new apartment, and why everything broke so quickly. She grew defensive and assured me it was not her fault because she did perform the manual labor. I informed her that I had had enough. I asked her what I needed to do to get work done on my apartment, and she told me "[you] aren't the only person having problems." The conversation ended with her giving me the air conditioning company's number and little else.
