Apartment Review for Emigration Court

Considering all things, I would say this apartment is the most tolerable in the area. I visited almost every apartment in the area and excluding storage space this had the best 'package'. <P>
I prefer a garden tub, theirs is nice (new), and you have the option of removing your 'low water usage' mechanism in your bathroom. <P>
The windows are sufficient, most apartments in downtown SLC are wanting on lighting. <P>
The appliances are acceptable, generally low efficiency, mid-range. The cabinets are real wood, this is the only apartment in SLC that didn't have the white/wood peeling laminate cabinets. <P>
There is a fair amount of sound. I was told that I would hear no sound in my aparment, however, I am right about the underground garage door and I can tell you the times everyone comes home, yes I hear the garage door everytime it opens and closes. I am also by the elevators, they make a fair amount of noise as well. I can hear when my neighbors fight, and what sounds like a chair pushed under the table (even though the apartment is mostly carpet). I hear many outside noises: generally, the only ones that bug me are the partiers upstairs. If I were so inclined, I could call the noise complaint number and get it taken care of. <P>
I would say rent is a little high. I come directly from Scottsdale, AZ; and Denver, CO; my rent is higher here than in both places. I'm paying just under $1 per square foot. Compared to most places downtown price is outrageous here, but then again you are paying for some comforts that are hard to replace/live without. <P>
