Apartment Review for Foothill Place Apartments

Seriously, please run, don't walk away from this place. They are dishonest people at best from the very beginning. You may not think anything of it, but please just listen to the people that didn't listen to their instincts. Ok where to even begin...

From the time we applied and signed the lease, the rent magically went up $150 dollars. We're talking a span of 4 days. And their reasoning was because there were sooooo many people just beating down the doors to live here. Lucky us, we got in! We were told to turn in the inspection report at our leisure, only to find out when we turned it in 5 days later, that anything wrong with the apartment is now our problem after 48 hours. Kinda reminds you of the childhood game, TAG, YOU'RE IT! They find ways to make you responsible for everything. If you are going to make the biggest mistake in your near future, read over every single word in the lease, because they will try to speed you through it. Then they can go back to painting their nails, or taking first born children, or whatever they do in their spare time. Because its definitely not the job they're supposed to be doing.

We had two people complain about our dogs barking, then they put an eviction notice on our door. After talking to management, they did back down, but only because they were bogus. None of the neighbors had ever heard them, and mysteriously, we went almost a year after that with no complaints. They say they're pet friendly, but will jump at any chance (bogus or not) to evict you for more money. And they prey on people that won't fight back.

The apartments are ridiculously cheaply done. Really, go look at the appliances and everything else in the apartments. It's all bottom of the line. But yet they make you pay top of the line prices. The halls smell like a sewer, you can hear everything through the walls. And if you don't have a 4 wheel drive, good luck getting out if its snowed alot overnight. Or in for that matter, its one big ice slide.

The apartments are not safe. For anyone. If you have children, the balconies are unsafe, and there is nothing but drunk college kids at the pool. So mark that off your list of family activities. There have been multiple sexual assault and assault reports. The most recent of which was only disclosed to the residents after it was on the news. But there were more before that. And the tapes for one person got taped over. Why would you tape over security footage? And they've had "problems" with people getting locked in the workout facility, which is incidentally where most if not all of the assaults have happened. Multiple peoples cars have been stolen or broken into, including our own. And what does Foothill Place do with all that money they make when people are at risk? They hire a rent a cop. Which doesn't do anything. Obviously assaults are still happening. It could be him for all we know.

When we moved out, we put in a 60 days notice. A month later they called and said that our move out date was the 1st, but they needed us out by the 30th. Ok, so we told them we would be out sooner. So what do they do? They put a notice on our door not even a week before our notice is up and say that we have to stay another month, and offer us renewal at even higher rates. When management was contacted, she said that we shouldn't have signed something we didn't understand. Apparently Foothill Place is the only place that has a 13 month lease. Which they had 2 months to tell us, but that would make them too honest. So even after agreeing to pay the months rent in payments and not get our deposit back (which was huge at $1050), our final bill was for $3000. Because they had to replace the entire carpet. That was spotless and had been steam cleaned monthly while we were there and just before we left. And the management and staff are completely incompetent and rude on a good day.

So in short, please, do not rent here. They should be shut down. They should have a class action lawsuit filed against them for all the undisclosed and unresolved assaults alone. Don't make the mistake so many other people have. No matter what you think, it won't be any different for you.
