The Good and The Bad ( 08/12/2012 )

The location, swimming pool, pet policy and views are positive amenities to this complex. The cramped apartments, outdated fixtures, limited privacy, poor management and inflexible policies are negative considerations. The once luxury apartments (built about 20 years ago) are no longer immaculate. And the rent is pricy, mainly because of the added fees (i.e., pet rent, W/D rent, parking, and utilities). I have lived here for two years and have observed a constant turnover of occupants. My recommendations. . . think carefully before you sign the rental contract.

I have lived here for 6 months and am thrilled with the spectacular views, stellar management team, location, and user-friendly floor plan. The management has responded to my one repair request the same day, and have worked patiently with me in arranging lease renewal options. They are friendly and always helpful. The apartments themselves are quiet, with the post office below generating a little city noise, but otherwise Sugarhouse is quiet at night and the best one could hope for while also enjoying all the conveniences of urban life. The only negatives would be the sink fixtures are a bit lower quality in comparison with the rest of the apartment. The floorplan is very well designed and comfortable. I plan to renew my lease here.

Overall, I have really enjoyed living at Irving Schoolhouse. I have been most impressed with the proffessionalism of the management. I am so amazed they remember me by name and every time I see them they ask how everything is in my apartment and actually do something about it. Very refreshing! Also, they do alot of fun parties for the residents. What I really enjoy most is the location. It is located next to great shopping, parks and the freeway. I've lived here for three years now and won't move unless I get a big rent increase because the rent is a little expensive. <P>

My apartment experience at Irving School House is good overall. The price is high but you do have access to several nice amenities such as a club house, pool, jaccuzi, racket ball courts, basket ball courts, copy machine, fax, 1 covered parking space. A few minimal annoyances include additional parking is hard to come by; strict rules about patio furniture; pricey monthly pet rent; annual rental rate increase and untimely maintenance of hall way (often wind-blown leaves and trash remain in common area until residences complain). The location is convienient in central Sugar House close to shopping, the high way and parks. I would reccommend this community to those who will take advantage of all the amenities offered.
