Apartment Reviews for Coppergate Apartments
Just because it's low income, should act low i

These apartments are the worst. We have lived here for two years now. Our upstairs neighbors CONSISTENTLY flood their bathroom so it pours water into ours from the ceiling. Maintenance is awful and know nothing about maintenance. They came over and spackled over it without fixing the problem. It just kept leaking month after month. Then our upstairs neighbors let their dogs poop all over their deck so just walking past the apartment reeks of feces. But that wasn't enough, they then poured water all over their deck to "wash" it flooding ours with the sewage waste and ruined all our lawn furniture. They have done this 4 times THAT WE HAVE CAUGHT. And the staff has done absolutely nothing about it. When it was time to recertify they sat on the papers for a month, leaving us up in the air wondering if we would be reapproved or not and panicking about where we would live if we weren't. Not only that but the parking is a long walk from where our unit is. The kids run around throwing rocks at the windows. The side walks and front entrance road are NEVER shoveled unless I call up THREE times to complain about it. Our friends who live in the complex also said their bathroom leaks and 3 other people have complained about **** roaches and mold in the windowsills. You can hear everything anyone says in neighboring apartments the walls are so thin. There is graffiti on the mailboxes that hasn't yet been removed from 2 weeks ago. There is trash and litter all over the grounds consistently. And instead of hiring better maintenance, they sent a notice around to everyone that if they find a cigarette butt on their side of the building they will be charged $25 WHETHER THEY SMOKE OR NOT. I don't smoke, and there's no way I'm going around picking up the cigarette butts just so I don't get charged a $25 fee for something MAINTENANCE should do anyway. Also after living here for 6 mos they upped the rent $60 (even though online it still has the lower original price). So if you do decide you want to deal with how horrible this place is at least sign a year so they won't be able to screw you too. I'm leaving here at this end of this month and going to the Florentine. They are brand new and on 7720 S. about 5 mins away and income restricted. Coppergate is horrible. Oh, and other maintenance concerns I have called about they sat on the work order for up to 5 days. And our busted door they said they would fix when we moved in here and 2 years later it's exactly the same. These apartments are shoddy, drafty, and poorly built. Just because it's low income doesn't mean that I should have to live in a crap hole.
