I love Foxchase; I've lived there for about six months now. I feel safe and my apartment has a lovely view of cherry trees. There's some loitering, but really only on weekends, and I've never seen anything get scary. A couple of bugs in the apartment but nothing too bad. I hear my neighbors every now and then, but not that often and not that loudly.
My only problem has been with maintenance. Small things like a broken garbage disposal get fixed no problem, but big things are another story. For the past 2 months I've been dealing with raccoons that nested in the wall between my bedroom and my kitchen. It was like pulling teeth to get maintenance to do anything other than set out a trap and hope for the best, and I ended up with a flea problem after they finally removed the animals. Then they didn't board up the hole in the outside of the building for over a month, and the maintenance manager was rude and unprofessional when I requested a rent cut for my being out of my apartment for a week. I finally got the rent cut, but not as much as it should have been, and at the expense of my sense of community.
I really like it here, and I think the few problems are worth living here. As long as you don't have a big maintenance problem, you'll be okay. But be warned that the maintenance staff is not always friendly or helpful, and most of them don't speak English, which just makes it harder to communicate a problem.
