Apartment Review for The Gardens At Twin Hickory

Great floor plans and nice location for this generally attractive complex. The management staff is very attentive and addresses most issues to the best of their ability in a timely manner. They are very pet friendly and have a small fenced dog park. The tenants are very friendly for an apartment complex. <P>
Our suggestions for improvement include: more pet pick up stations; a trash compactor/dumpster that isn't overflowing on a weekly basis and that doesn't require you to walk through everyone's trash leaks and open a dirty, heavy metal door (drive up type with the ability to toss in the top would be better, with no steps); a change in the maintenance supervisor who answers maintenance requests with lots of excuses and explanations and doesn't fix the problem until typically the third try, generally after making it worse initially and making a mess of your apt. each time (the rest of the staff seems fine); more parking and enforcing the use of special parking areas for motorcycles and trailers (and cars with expired tags); better lighting near the apartments that are at the back of the breezeways (always dangerously dark in the evenings); better quality carpet/padding and painting/cleaning between tenants, and possibly the creation of a skateboard area to get all the kids out of the streets and parking spaces to decrease the risk of injury and damage to cars. <P>
