Apartment Reviews for Park Place - Newport News

I have lived here over 1 year and love it! Getting an apartment here is joining a very family oriented living environment. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Doesn't get any better than this...

Park Place is one of the nicest places I have ever lived at in Newport News. I found out about the place because I have had several co workers live there in the past and they always spoke very highly of them. The only complaint I might have is that I wish I would of choose a larger apt and I can move to a different one but I do not feel like it. :( However the areas are always very clean, my mainteance requests get done the next day and even most of the time the same day. The ladies in the office are also very nice to deal with. They make you feel at home and as ease to know you are in good hands.

What I enjoy the most is being able to go for great peaceful walks at the fountian. It is very nice. The grounds for the complex are also well maintained, so you expect good quality. Unfortunatly, the apartment itself has poor quality features (cheap carpets, bad flat paint on the walls, cheap cabinets and appliances and fake tiles in the entry and kitchen). This is really dissappointing as for the money spent I thought it would be nicer. I guess your paying for the area.

I lived very happy living at Park Place apartments in 2009, then made the mistake of taking a less expensive apartment nearby in 2010. I have such a greater appreciation for the lovely apartment at Park Place now that I have returned in 2011. I take nothing for granted, like the feeling of safety, gated parking lots for security of my car at night, the well maintained halls, exercise area, and upkeep of the grounds. The maintenance workers respond quickly and efficiently. My neighbors are friendly and there's a feeling that we watch out for one another, which gives me a sense of community. I work/read a great deal at the nearby cafe Aromas and love the ambience of the fountains and events. It may be a few dollars more, but definitely worth it. The office staff is professional and caring.

I love my apartment and living in city center. I have enjoyed my stay here and it's been a great experience for me. The office staff has been great to me and my dog.

This place is wonderful, the girls Charleen Riana & Angela are the BEST, sweet and extremely efficient.

I am not sure about others but have been a good time here at Park Place . I like to walk to Salas and we walk our dog down to the fountain. I was waiting til i moved out to write a review since i saw some others that werent too good . My carpet was good and checked for pet urine and was fine no charges at all .... I always have nothing bad to say about the office they were always nice and helpful. I lived in building 800 last building and had a fountain view .

I love living here. I could not ask for a better apartment for my family. You are centrally located to everything. There are functions held every month in City Center as well as by managment. In fact this month is Spa Night! They are giving free neck and hand massages...it doesn't get better than that. I am not sure what happenned to the people on here as I have never had any of these issues nor has any of my friends. I know quite a bit of people that live here now or did leave here and they loved it!

I just love living at Park Place. It is close to everything and my apartment is amazing. I can honestly say it one of the best places I have ever lived at. The office and maintenace staff are always professional and courtesy.

I just moved in but prior to moving in was told by another community in the area that this was a not so good apartment place to live in. I choose Park Place because the apartment is more spacious and the attitudes of the ladies in the office were warm and welcoming. I will admit I was a bit worried at first but now I realized why the other place told me that. This place is really nice, and they should feel threatened. My apartment is great; the office staff is very nice. In fact at my move in I had already had packages delivered and they kindly held on to them until I arrived. I must say from reading the other reviews that everyone has had their own unique experience with Park Place.

I have lived at Park Place for about 8 months now. I love my one bedroom apartment. I have so much natural light and a wonderful view of the fountain. I love the intercom system...it reminds me of the show Seinfeld. lol

I have lived at Park Place for 4 years and I have no complaints. I am shocked at the negative reviews. I have lived in several different apartments around the world in my 65 years of life and Park Place is one of my favorites. I love my apartment and the convenience of the City Center. The few maintenance issues that I've had were corrected promptly. The office staff is always professional and friendly.

I just moved into my apartment i love the floor plan very modern . I have had a good experience so far !!!! would say i love it here glad that i have had a good experience so far !!!

I have lived here since 2006 and enjoy the atmosphere at City center. My husband and I go out to Salsa's every week . Its a must try! I have been happy living here at Park Place and have had no trouble with my apartment or the people in the office. Sometimes i hear noise regular apartment stuff but besides that thats my only complaint.

I moved to the area one year ago and thought that I found the perfect place. I was WRONG... The leasing office isn't helpful and the only response to EVERYTHING..."I'M SORRY THAT YOU FEEL THAT WAY!" My neighbors are noisy and the bugs in our unit are nasty. Asked for pest control 3 times and they came out once. They are not that good at keeping the stairwells clean and the parking is a joke. I finally broke down and got paid parking for $30 mthly and they have me parking between two big ole' trucks. I will really be glad when my lease is up. This place is the dumps for the money I spend mthly. If you can, PLEASE move to another location. This place isn't for those that are looking for quiet nights at home, or relaxing after work. The location is great and the bars in the are neat, but DON'T DO IT....

I have been here for about a month, and I am very happy with my choice! Great community with shops and restaurants. The fountain area is nice to walk around, at night in particular. My only minor complaint is the noise level. Not from the neighbors, but from outside. This area is busy on Friday and Saturday nights, and there are loud people and cars/motorcycles flying by. My unit is on the main street second floor, so you may have better luck away from the street, the higher the better probably. Other than that, I am 100% satisfied. Office staff is very friendly and helpful. Rec center is enjoyable, fitness center is acceptable.

They say nothing is perfect...well I beg to differ! Park Place is PERFECT! The location is perfect, the apartment is perfect, the entire staff is perfect. Do I need to say it again? I call in a work order and it's down within a few days, they even put my ceiling fan up. My last place of residence could give a hoot about anything. I feel like Park Place cares. they care so much when you walk through the door everyone in the office speaks and there are about 5 ladies there. It's AWESOME! If you can afford it and or not in the market to buy a house this is the place for you. I promise you will love it!

I have lived at Park Place since it was built in 2005 and I will never consider moving anywhere else in Newport News. When my husband was deployed here in 2001 we lived in one bad apartment community after another until we moved here. I love living in City Center and being able to walk to the shops. The maintenance is great here, it's unbelievable how fast they respond to a call, and the office staff has always been friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who can afford it.

This is a nice, classy apartment complex. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. It's nice to have an elevator when I need it. The office staff is always nice and helpful.

We looked all over Newport News to find an appropriate apartment for our lifestyle and we found it in the town center. My husband and I can walk to dinner, shopping, and to the fountain/park. The staff is wonderful and grounds are kept very well and while it is not quite as quiet(noisy upstairs neighbors)as anticipated, it is more like a condo than an apartment.

The only things that would make it perfect is a small playground for children and a few light freeweights in the fitness area (5 to 25 lbs for safety of users). I am hoping to be able to have recycling on site soon so it can be a green community:)

Probably the nicest complex you will find in newport news. It's in City Center which acts as a sort of high end bubble with shops and great places to eat! Leasing office is wonderful, grounds are kept very well, lots of community events, fountains in the small lake, etc! I am a college student living here for the same price as a year's lease on my campus because I wanted to find a quieter place to live away from all the partying. The only downside I have had is that my room is on the front of the apartment where people can walk by my window, so at night and on weekends it can be hard to get to sleep. And most of the people who I have seen being loud and partying have NOT been CNU students but adults, so don't let the idea of college kids living there deter you (as the previous post stated).

by far the best place in newport news!

This place is great for the professional. There are many doctors and high ranking officers in here. The only issue is a few CNU students whose parents are paying rent so they don't seem to respect the quiet that the majority of us want and need. There have been a few loud parties and people with two story beer bongs, but for the most part that has ceased. It's a nice area and they maintain the property very well. The staff try to get the buildings together for events so that we can get to know our neighbors. It truly feels like a neighborhood instead of an apartment complex.
