Apartment Review for Archstone Apartments

I have a huge list of things I could say, but I don't want to be on the computer all day.

First, it takes them several tries to fix anything, if they ever even try. We have two windows that leak badly that I have reported twice and they say they schedule them for replacement, that was over a year ago.

Management staff is incompetent and cold. Parking can be a nightmare, especially with towing. I had a friend help me pick up a stereo that wouldn't fit in my car and his vehicle was gone in less than 20 minutes.

The location is not safe, at all. The "gated community" had gates that don't work. They either off the hinges, cut with a hacksaw, or just plain broken.

We have people hopping the fence to do drug deals, hiding from the cops in the bushes between the fence and Spring Mall road, and drug use right outside our apartment.

I've reported the drug use and drug deals to the management and they say it's not their problem. They say to call the police, but they don't allow police patrols in their "gated community" and the police don't get here in time to catch anything. It's not like they stick around to be caught. I guess the "background checks" they do on residents must not prevent anything.

Save yourself the nightmare of overpaying on rent and other rediculous move in charges and find something cheaper with a shuttle to the metro. It's not a safe walk from to and from the metro anyway unless it's light out and during rush hour.

The last thing I'll mention (there are many more) is that the painters they had painting the apartments last year dented my brand new, one week old car carrying something, but what can I do when they deny it and the apartment says they aren't responsible.

Oh, and two months after I moved in, there was a murder right outside the gate and there have been other shootings and stabbings at the mall, luckily no one else killed so far. <P>
