Positive Apartment Reviews and Ratings
Satisfied with my experience ( over a year ago )

My fiance and I are renting a 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath (a large full bath in the bedroom and a half bath in the hallway) with a sunroom and fireplace at the Lincoln at Fair Oaks. The square footage is around 880 sq. ft. (with the sunroom, if you get one with a balcony subtract 50 sq. ft.). The complex is over 10 years old but is in good condition, the apartments are some of the nicest I've seen in the Fair Oaks/Lakes area. Maintenance is usually fast to respond to problems, and the management is so-so, impersonal but generally helpful anyway. The walls are thin, but in general you'll only hear noise from the outside hallways- the complex is generally very quiet. Mostly young professional couples or single people and a few families, tons of dog owners- always watch the ground for dog poop, especially on the grass but even on the sidewalks! Parking is a hassle, they just changed the system: if you own a motorcycle you are required to rent a garage (extra $100 bucks a month) and there's very little designated visitor's parking- you can get a visitor's pass (1 at a time) from the office in advance. They DO tow randomly, much more recently than in past months), so make sure you follow the parking rules. Two parking passes maximum per apartment, one pass max for each person on the lease.
Overall, not a bad place to be. It's right near 29, rt 50, and 66 and there's three Fairfax Connector bus stops right next to the apartment community. There are a handful of crazy neighbors but probably less than what you'd see in a regular apartment community. There are two movie theaters within 5 minutes and some fast food and restaurants nearby. Two grocery stores in the immediate vicinity, Safeway (open 24 hours but very slow) and Wegman's. I would recommend it if you have the money to spend and you want a place to call home for at least a year, definitely not if you're a big partier or you're just looking for four walls and a roof.
