Review for Maple Bay Townhomes Apartments

We fell in love with these apartments immediately and were definitely taken back by the BIG price tag, but decided it looked safe, seemed really nice with all new appliances, etc. plus it was located right near the base which was great (or so we thought). Turns out the "amazing" renovations are basically A LOT of paint over badly damaged walls amongst other things. Within about 3 months of living in our apartment the walls were cracking and paint falling, the floors moaned with every step and were completely not level, the air conditioning was a JOKE and made our electric bill hell b/c it NEVER cooled our apartment and after we endured months of renovations in the houses next to us (construction EVERY DAY starting at 8am and ending sometimes after 9am) our neighbor's conversations were interesting, but we weren't really interested in hearing them all the time... or their toilet flushing, or their TV/stereo. Oh and about a week after we moved in there was a drug bust in the apartment two doors down from us. Would have been nice if the complex sent us something reassuring us that we were safe in our neighborhood. Last but not least, the jet noise is pretty extreme so be prepared. Don't get me wrong, my fiance is in the Navy and works with these Jets and even he was constantly annoyed that we had to yell to each other on a nightly basis. Needless to say we broke our lease and got out early. In the 6 months we lived there the rent has increased by over $200/month!! It seems nice, but honestly save yourself the money and heartache and find something else!
