To start I would like to talk about the previous reviews.

1) People should not talk these ratings to seriously... like all things... how often do you hear people talk about the good things that happen to them?? People are more apt to vent and tell everyone about things that make them mad then what makes them happy... and with that they are more likely to grip and complain about issues on web sites... People seak these sites to complain, not to praise... so... take all this with a grain of salt. Montair apartments is GIANT... they have I think close to 450 apartment. A community that big is going to have a wider range of issues and people then a community with 100 apartments. Also... they are going to have a much higher amount of unhappy people... its simple stitistics. if 1 in every 20 people is upset... and you have $100 units... you will have 5 angry residents... but when you have 400 apartments... you now have 20 angry residents... the ratio remains the same... but you sure have a lot more people complainings... but then again... that means you have 380 happy residents. But... as I stated earlier, you are more likely to hear people complain the praise, so with that Montair is going to have a higher amount of people complaining and writing worse reviews then the other communites... thus a lower score. I love Montair. I have lived here for almost 3 years... the staff is friendly... the view is amazing and the apartments are head over heals better and sharper looking then other communities in the area. I would also like to point out all the good things the community does. They have complimentary brunch for ALL residents once a month (usually good stuff too... French Toast, fruit, pancakes etc) They have parties and activities almost every season. They do fun things for residents (for Easter they hid Golden eggs around the community for the adults. If you found one then you got a prize such as a $50 gift card for gas etc. They also had 2 easter egg hunts for the big and little kids which was nice because my 4yr old had a chance to find eggs as well.) Montair is a very nice community, it is well run and respectable. They are just as good if not better then any other community in the area. So... please do not base your opinion on the blusterings of a few angry people. Go check out Montair for yourself, take a tour and see what they have to offer (also... if you feel skeptical... after they show you the model... ask if they have a vacant apartment that is able to be shown so you can see the finished product and what you would be getting... so you know that they dont just show you a cleaned up and well kept model)

2) MOLD... MOLD IS UNDER YOUR CONTROL! Western Washington as a whole has a higher risk of mold then most places on the west coast due to the large amount of moister in the air. Their is actually a health code enforced through Thurston County that REQUIRES all homes to have their ventalation fans at least 8hrs a day... this is to help prevent mold. If you keep air moving through your apartment you will not have many mold issues. ALSO... THE PROPERTY GIVES YOU AN ENTIRE PAGE IN THE LEASE THAT COVERS MOLD AND HOW TO PREVENT IT!!!! Common sense... DONT PUT YOUR FURNITURE FLUSH AGAINST THE WALL!!! You have to create air gaps between the wall and furniture (beding etc) Also... you need to clean and do checks for mold... THAT TO IS OUTLINED IN THE LEASE!

3)Ammenties. Yes... I agree that the spa is broken quite often... I will give you that one... but the other ones you are WAY off. The management gives you a key to get into the side door to use the Tanning, Basketball Court and fitness center after hours. They are actually open from 8am - 10pm. This to is COVERED IN YOUR LEASE!!! If you actually read what the lease said... or listened to what the management told you when touring you and moving you in... they explained ALL THIS. I know they covered this when I MOVED in and they also covered it when 2 other friends of mine moved in... so... I find it odd that they have covered this with all 3 of us in 3 seperate apartements over a period of 2 years yet.... they just didnt with you. PERHAPS YOU WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION! READ YOUR PAPERWORK BEFORE YOU SIGN IT! The same for the club house. I asked my friends... we ALL remember them telling us about the charge to rent the club house on our tours. Also... its not a HUGE amount... you get to rent th ENTIRE club house, Kitchen, seating area etc... which holds approx 130 people (per fire code) entirely to your self from 6pm-10pm for only $50 and a $100 deposit (which is refunded to you as long as you clean up and return it to its normal state. That is a GREAT price... I dont know if you have ever tired to rent a banquet hall or any other place to hold a party that big... I assure you it is MUCH higher. When my wife and I got married, we lived in an apartment that was part of an association... so on top of our required association dues to gain access to amenities... to rent the club house... it was a $200 charge with another $300 deposit. Now granted... we were given access for a longer period of time... but the point remains the same... the price is not extremely high. Also... if you just wanted to have a business meeting or have a bunch of people over for a poker game... it would only be $25 + a $50 deposit as long as you dont have food that requires the kitchen.
