Review for Orchard Crest Apartments

Ok- I've previously rated Orchard Crest as a great place to live. Linda, the manager is great and very friendly. However, the maintenance department is useless. My stove was problematic from the moment I moved in May. I was promised a new stove. The maintenance people told Linda that my stove was repaired. The problem was that the temperature indicators on the oven knob were worn off and the oven door did not close. It was never repaired as report to Linda. I finally got a new stove this week after 6 months. I was promised a new dryer. The old one produces a whine loud enough to be hard outside. The neighbors have complained about the noise. I was promised a new unit last month and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday (10/16/09). Guess what? No new unit as promised. It may arrive next week... hopefully but I'm not holding my breath. Once again, Linda (the manager) was promised by the maintenance people that the whine (defective bearings) had been fixed... I call this a gross misrepresentation. Linda is great, the maintenance department is useless. The clincher? I called the pager number last night and was told they had no record of Orchard Crest Apartment and I'd have to wait until Monday. Would I rent this place again if I had a redo? The answer at this point is "no". Would I recommend this place to a friend? The answer at this point would be a "no". And, when Linda was away in August, her fill-in rented apartments to white trash and other undesirables... it is beginning to feel like a "project" with partially running cars, 4 or 5 people living in a one-bedroom apartment, etc. Linda can't leave for vacations or other "projects" because her fill-in will likely screw up the place even more. My lease comes up for renewal in May. If things don't improve, I'll be finding someplace new to live.
