Review for Ashton Court Apartments

I've lived in Aston for 3 years. It's layout acts as a through way for students heading from the 18th ave stores and restaurants to the many apartment complexes going east of Walnut St. During the summer, the weather is so hot that you are forced to open a window for some cool air in order to sleep at night. But the ability to get sleep is cut short by drunken patrons of the 18th ave businesses as they make their way home.

Police are called to the residence a couple of times a month due to residents that are drunk, disorderly or loudly partying all through the night. It is not uncommon to come out of your apartment in the morning on a weekend and find empty beer cans and broken beer bottles in the parking lot.

Eves in front of the apartment make for easy 2nd story window access. (lock your windows when you are not home.) Walls are only plaster board and are unable to bear much weight. There is a problem with wasps and ants during the warmer months.

Parking can be troublesome since most apartments have college roommates sharing a two bedroom townhouse. Guests and residence can park on the street and parking is assigned, but there is no visitor parking and it is not unusual to come home and find your parking spaces occupied by your neighbors friends.

As of recent, the apartments can be difficult to exit at the top of each hour during the regular school year due to an enormous apartment complex recently built north of the Ashton. Foot traffic is heavy September through June. Snow is heavy usually between December to late April.

If you are looking for an apartment to raise your kids or you are a student that is into quiet study, I suggest you move to a location south of Central Washington University and away from the downtown area of Ellensburg.
