Review for The Grove Apartments

The first year was a little rocky when we first moved into the Grove. When we first moved in our apartment was not finished. On top of that our heater didn't work for all of the winter (and yes we requested several times to have it fixed but they kept giving us the same answer of we will get around to it when we can). Apparently in our first year here they also changed managers a few times without telling anyone.

Being hopeful I decided to stay a second year here thinking that things would change. I was wrong. Not only did things not improve at the grove, they seem to be getting worse. When I moved into the new apartment it hadn't even been cleaned. I spent the first day cleaning and scrubbing the apartment so it would be livable. When I informed the front desk of the situation they told me that when the person checked out the apartment passed inspection. From the pictures I have I doubt even an inspection took place. The manager currently in the grove does not care about her tenants. If you speak with her she treats you much like a high school student instead of an adult.

Some of the staff is helpful, but the restrictions placed upon them make them seem incompetent, even though they most likely are not. Maintenance is slow at getting things repaired. I've waited all year to have them fix the weather stripping on my door since every time they pressure wash outside water floods the inside of my apartment. Not a fun mess to clean up, since there is now water damage in the entrance.

Now that it is check out time the Grove seems to be finding every possible way to gain their money back from their losses of people moving out. My roommate received a notice of eviction for fees that even the staff at the front desk do not know where they came from. When asked for help they could not do anything because the manager was out all day, again, on a Friday.

I do not recommend moving here unless you can deal well with complications and broken promises. There are other apartment complexes in Ellensburg that will treat you with respect and work with you when you need help.
