Living Nightmare

I don't even know where to begin, there are so many things wrong with living here. I guess I'll start with the noise.

There is constant noise in the parking lot. It ranges from people blasting their mariachi music or screaming at each other to horns honking at all hours of the night. There's also apartment noise. The walls are very thin, and either the doors are also thin, or people just don't care that they're stomping or running up and down the stairs at random hours. There is a huge lack of respect for quiet hours.

The parking is also a problem. Each apartment is assigned one parking space, whether you're renting a one-, two-, or three-bedroom. Management says there are "plenty of guest spaces" but in reality there are only seven or eight spaces to be shared with all the buildings in the complex, and those spaces are filled with the same cars that never move. I have lived here for 8 months and have only seen an open guest space twice. People choose to park in the fire lanes, by the dumpsters, or in someone else's assigned spot.

Crime in the neighborhood is pretty bad. Gunshots followed by sirens are common sounds in the middle of the night. I've never actually seen any crimes being committed but there are often groups of people skulking in the parking lot after dark, and if you happen to be outside for any reason - walking from your apartment to your car - you are watched with great suspicion.

The only improvement that I've seen around here is that management has changed hands recently. I don't know if they're helpful when it comes to solving tenants' problems, but I do know that they're much more friendly and they don't call once a week threatening eviction for noise violations such as "walking too loudly".

I would definitely not recommend living here.
