Unfortunately, A Poor Living Experience

I wish I could be positive but that is not the case. Two signigficant problems and I could list many more.

1) I moved in spring of 2004 and relocated from one building to another after living in it for only six months. I was steered to building six by the then Manager, being told the building I desired would not be open for one to two years. It opened within a couple of months. My building was noisy. I had little funiture, a mattress and night stand only, as my personal effects remained in a storage unit, and nothing was hung on the walls during my residency. Nevertheless when I moved, I was charged fully for painting and cleaning even though I spent two days cleaning after I moved out. There was no allowance for normal wear and tear and I believe it absorbed half my deposit if not more.

2) Secondly, when I moved from building six to building eleven, within six weeks two apartments, mine included flooded several inches deep of raw sewage. It is not the policy the change the carpet or paint the walls. I was also burglarized of over $2000 in personal items as many unsupervised workers were allowed to enter freely in my absence when there was no "emergency" situation after the flooding. My apartment has flooded with raw sewage two more times four weeks apart over the last two months. I was out on both occasions and my emergency contact phone number was never called. I don't know who entered my apartment as on one occasion I was gone for two days. Obviously, it is uninhabitable.

Again no carpet change, low staffing, high turnover in office staff, rent changes and concern for poor maintance over the last years in minor repairs are my reasons for moving in urgency and concern for my health and safety. Four apartments have flooded btw.

As far as rent charges: BEWARE

I am disabled and have voucher assistance. At one time my rent was raised to over $1000 per month. Eventually it has been changed and now my charge is nearly $900, an amount far above the worth of the apartment and my income which is below $15000 per year.

I have read the other reviews and agree with much of what was stated. I have been ignored/invalidated many times by the office staff.

My apologies for offending anyone but the facts are at hand.
