Apartment Reviews for Swiss Gables - Kent

When my family and I moved in here last year we were really excited and happy with the new place. Large apartments, beautiful decks, and very accommodating management staff. Now, slowly things are changing. The maintenance man is great and very prompt. I like the fact that management lives onsite. Management responds to issues in a timely manner and are very polite. The problems we notice are things we asked about on move in. There is vehicle vandalism and break ins, a fire from cigarettes on the property, smoking in common areas, loud barking dogs and shouting owners, fights and shouting in the parking lot at night, and obnoxious cars. I understand that all of these things come with living in an apartment setting and there are always going to be bad apples, but they shouldn't adamantly assure people that they don't happen, then. Also, there are really no amenities to speak of. Don't let them fool you with the "playground" it is microscopic. Make sure you see it first. Also, we were shown an apartment that was in significantly better shape than the one we ended up with (wasn't ready to be seen.) Make sure you see the one you get. Also, the apartment was not very clean, We were willing to fore go most of this as unimportant, because we liked the affordable price, but now the rents have gone up a huge chunk. Our rent went up over $100 in a year. I think this is incredibly excessive, especially since we have seen no improvements or upgrades...still waiting for the fitness room. We are disappointed since that was a point we also discussed on move in is the average increases. We are considering moving, although we enjoy the apartment and some of the people. We could move and find a place with a pool, etc. for this price. I think the new management company is getting a little greedy. Just wanted to present an honest representation.
