Review Title:   Be Careful Especially If You Are In The Military
Reviewer:   Anonymous
Review Date:   5/7/2006

If you are in the military, avoid this apartment complex like the plague. To begin with, the service was lackluster for the price that they charged, but the facility is decently kept up. That is what lures people in. Make sure everything offered by them is clearly in writing. If not, they'll get you. And most importantly, they offer a "military clause" to terminate a lease. Don't you ever believe that from them. All PCS orders have a report date that is farther back then the date that you will need to move out. They will charge the rent up to the report date. Who leaves on the report date? So if your report date is two months from the time you need to leave, you'll get charged for the 2 months whether you are there or not. Then they'll make you pay an early termination fee saying it is cheaper than paying the remaining rent up to the report date. They won't take a memorandum from your commander or an amendment to an order. They want an original order. They know that the soldiers don't have time for litigation or to even argue. Matter of fact, the manager, "G...", even stated not to bother going to JAG because they won't be able to help and that if we don't pay the fees before we leave, the bill will be sent up for collections. All this shows that they've been doing this for quite a while. After this experience, my wife has started to talk with other military wives in the complex to find out that a great deal of service members have been screwed in some fashion. And to make the situation worse, they want to charge a few hundred to repaint along with another hundred for professional shampoo. Total possible payment to leave this lease is somewhere between $1,300 to $2,000 even with a PCS order and the "military clause". If you are in the complex right now, or have been in and been improperly treated, report it to housing, your chain-of-command and all military advocate groups. Don't let your fellow brothers and sisters in the military who get sent to distant lands to get shot at be screwed at home by this apartment complex.
