We moved in about a year ago. Its nice enough. But when we had issues with the plumbing and the parking garage, the resident manager couldnt do anything about them, and instead said that the "property manager" needed to arrange for repairs. (the resident manager used to be able to authorize those, but we heard the property manager took that right away)
The property manager didnt show up when he said he would, and did not return our phone calls for over a week. When he did show up, it was unannounced. (We told him he had to give us notice, as the law says. He didnt like hearing that)
The building is OK. The resident manager does a good job keeping it clean & taking care of the little things like noisy neighbors or parking. It would be helpful to those of us who live here if the property manager were more responsible or returned responsibility to the resident manager to take care of things.
The rent is reasonable for what you get. It is not the newest building in the area and it could use some remodeling. I guess they did paint the exterior a couple years ago but it really does need to be upgraded to modern standards.
One thing it does have that I really like is is real fireplace. Not a gas burner, but a real wood burner. It makes it cozy in the wintertime.
The building is pet friendly. We dont have pets but I know there are a few cats and dogs. I have no idea if they charge extra for pets though.

Roosevelt Place isnt the newest or fanciest place in the neighborhood, but it certainly is one of the better places.
I have lived there for a few years and it has improved in the last year. The owners got rid of a large uncaring management company and hired a guy who has lived in the building for almost 20 years. He has gotten rid of the druggies and the party kids and actually CLEANS the place.
The building needs a coat of paint. We have been told that this will happen in the summer of 2009.
The rents are affordable and mid-range for the area.
There are two negatives that I have. The number one is parking. There is no guest parking on the property. Guests must find on street spots in the area, though that usually isnt a problem. The parking used to be a lot worse until the present manager started to really tow cars that were inappropriately parked. Now at least I can get to the spot that comes with my unit.
The other issue is the appliances. They are the originals from when the building was built in the mid 80's. They are showing their years. I have heard, though, that the owners are replacing the appliances now for new tenants, and these even include a microwave.
THANK GOD that we didnt go condo like a few other buildings around here, and Thank God the owners got a decent manager!
