Review Title:   A Place To Pass Up...

I have been living here for a few months now. I was enticed by the sales pitch of quite apartments, secure building, energy efficient appliances, and sqaure footage. Well, after living here for a few months I have been enjoying my movie time with our neighbors sound system, and I enjoy waking up at 5:00 a.m. to the sound of dryers in the downstairs apartment. The walls are not soundproof by any means, just keep that into consideration when you are talking with someone on the phone. Our appliances are shiny and new, and look heavy duty. Our dishwasher leaves our dishes looking freshly used no matter what type of detergent we use. The water here isn't very good either which makes our clothes smell funny if you leave them for more than an hour before you dry them. The dryer works well though, but it is very noisy. A secure building usually means controlled access. I can assure you that any criminal or theif can come and go as he/she pleases right through the front door. It does not lock at night properly. The tea and yarn shop has been broken into twice already and two cars were cleaned out in the garage. They say they are putting cameras into the garage but the have been saying this since DEC. 26th, it is now Feb 13th and there are no working cameras in the garage. This slow follow up is an example of what is to come if you do decide to move in. Keep in mind that though the floor space is good there aren't many places to store your boxes or anything you don't want laying out. So you'll need to pay an extra $25/month for a storage room that is ample for a couple boxes. It is pretty small. ANother note is the craftsman ship of all the cabinatry and doors. Use nicely they will fall apart. There were many shortcuts and costcuts in this new building. Just look at the ceiling in the corners, the paint doesn't hit every spot, there are lines of white walls inbetween the paint. My suggestion is to find a one bedroom or any bedroom place somewhere else because the prices are quite high for this area. You can save yourself $200/month and headaches by moving to Ballinger Commons into one of their remodelled apartments.
