We rented an apartment at Cedar Hollow for 7 months. During that time, our air conditioner stopped working in the middle of a heat wave of days consistently over a hundred degrees. We put in a request to have it fixed because my wife was pregnant and the heat was unsafe for her and nearly made her faint. After a few days they finally looked at the air conditionaer and said that it was fine...that it just wasn't meant to work in that kind of heat. So they would not fix it because they said it worked fine, though it would not even cool one room down if it was over 92 degrees.
When we moved out of the apartment, we painstakingly cleaned the unit. We scrubbed floors, sinks, counters, showers, and windows. We cleaned the stove, refrigerator, microwave, and carpets. The apartment looked far cleaner than when we had moved in, yet we did not receive any of our deposit back because they said they had to pay $140 to have it cleaned and that did not include the carpet cleaning fee! We have rented in various places, but apart from the often mandatory carpet cleaning fee, we have always received our deposit money back because we have cleaned our places VERY good before we moved out. This place was no different, but they just kept out money.
