DO NOT LIVE HERE. When I moved in, our kitchen window was broken and the landlord said he would have it fixed in the spring when the weather was better. Several months later I reminded him about it. It was still broken when we moved out. Our apartment had also been remodeled before we moved in (although the same old, broken down appliances were left. One of the refrigerator shelves was broken and the stove had to be replaced due to the oven still being hot when the dial was in the off position.) There were piles of sawdust and drywall dust in all of the cabinets and any flat or semi-flat surface. The landlord also promised us a proper storage area and a 12 foot deck in the coming MONTHS. We never did get either; our things in storage were in what looked to be an unused studio apartment in the basement. The basement is dank and smells of mold. More on the "storage" later. The landlord is a slum lord. He buys run down properties in very bad areas. He actually told me he wanted to buy a property that had just been closed down and had all of the tennants evicted because of the sub-par living conditions of the building (the area also had hookers and drug dealers in the parking lot - he TOLD me this!) In the year and some odd months I lived there I had my car broken into, found 9mm bullet casings in the parking lot next to my car and had all of my belongings in the "storage area" completely destroyed by flooding from the bottom and a pipe bursting from the top. My property had mold growing on it (when I told the landlord about this he basically told me "too bad" and refused to give me the name of his insurance company even after I told him it was due to a pipe bursting.) I had to call the cops on the people below us for loud music into the wee hours of the night. When those people moved out the landlord told me that he had found a 10 inch knife hidden in the toilet tank. A friend of mine works as a delivery driver for the Rocky Rocco's near there and said that they did not like delivering there after dark due to their drivers being robbed. When the move out came he gave me a list of all of the things he wanted done cleaning wise. I spent 12 hours cleaning and I only got half of my deposit back with a 2 page list of the things that were "not done." This list was full of lies. One of the things in particular was "oven dirty." My boyfriend cleaned it with Easy Off. It was perfect! I did not fight it or contact the landlord because I am happy to just be out of there and away from him. This landlord does not want to do anything when you move out. He expects you to be a professional cleaning person. And he wants YOU to get the carpect professionally cleaned. Even after I had the carpet cleaned "dirty carpet" appeared on the aformentioned list. I have NEVER not had my whole deposit returned. He is only out for money. He doesn't care about your living conditions, the people he rents to or your problems with his property and management.
