Review for School Street Apartments

My wife and I moved here for the 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, and low rent. Disaster! The hallways are playgrounds for children (which there are MANY), the parking lot was a dump/maintenance garage (complete with vehicles that couldn't move), and there was an EXTREME problem with insect/arachnid life. Great if you want to learn about all the bug life in southeast Wisconsin, because they all live there.

Our upstairs neighbor had three children who played basketball and WWF at all hours of the day, and both the police and the landlord said, "Deal with it." Asabi, the manager, would promise to help solve problems, but never did.

Our carpet, clean when we arrived, soon developed dozens of black spots, ranging from dime-size to serving plate-size. I called maintenance; they left a note on our door saying, "Not mold. Will clean when you move out." The best part was that they left the note on the door without ever coming in, as we were there the entire time.

It is an old, dumpy apartment in an old, dumpy area. Marshall is nice. No one believed me when I told them I lived in the Marshall ghetto. "Marshall has a ghetto?" they would ask.

Oh yes. And it is the School Street Apartments.

School Street Apartments has new owners since July of 2007, the new management has won awards for turning over this complex. The grounds are beautiful, the tenant issues have been resolved and all maintenance issues are taken care of in a timely manner. The prices are affordable and it truly is a wonderful place to live.
