The earlier reviews of Metro Investment apartments are over reactions, and personal slanders. I have happily lived in their apartments for 16 years.
I know several people who have done the same and I will be encouraging them to write on this site.
Their apartments are not mansions, nor are they any where near to "slums" as an earlier person wrote. It is a small family company that does its best to keep up with repairs, and will be out to help you at any time of night or day for an emergency.
No, they may not get to that missing cupboard handle right away, but if the heat goes out, or some other real problem occurs they will show up at 2 am.
Any serious problem I have had has always been taken seriously and addressed to the best of their ability in a timely manner. I have always felt as though I was a valued tenant.
They rent often to students, who could care less about the way they treat their apartments, so they instituted protective measures that are all outlined clearly in the lease, such as the charge for light bulbs and keys.
Yes... these do cost money, and they have to pay people to come in and install new locks because if they don't, they are exposing the current tenants to home invasion and robbery from the previous tenant.
Bruce is one of the most understanding and kind landlords I have met or heard of on the East Side. He goes out of his way to help people who treat him with respect. I have seen him treated very rudely and he will still be professional.
Some of the "problems" mentioned in earlier posts are foolish. Most rental units require paid parking, and utilities. It is your responsibility to read rental contracts, that is Why they are given to you. It is not the landlords responsibility to read it to you, nor to pay your bills if reneged on.
The only legitimate complaint I see is the tarp drain, which is admittedly bad, though unusual in my experience of my own and friends apartments. None of the reports indicate if they notified the management of the problems indicated.
As for the name calling in earlier posts, that shows a childish attitude that is borne out by the lack of personal responsibility shown in the nature of the complaints.
