I've lived at Juneau Village Towers (building B) for just over a month now and I wanted to take a minute to write a quick review. So far so great!!! I've had wonderful experiences with the leasing office staff. Jody and her team do a great job. They have been very proactive in handling my concerns on the few occasions when I had any. The maintenance staff (especially John) is by far the best with which I've dealt over my many years of renting. I'm a retired Naval officer/veteran and have lived all over the world in rental properties and this is by far one of the best. Yes, it's old and yes it could probably use a little updating, but over all the staff does a wonderful job of making this a great place to live.

Thanks JVT staff....you're doing a great job. Keep it up!!!

Wow!
I am shocked to see some of these reveiws.
I have lived at JVT for almost 3 years now and the heat is fantastic! No problems at all. And I have indoor parking and pay $95 per month-not sure where you are getting the $110 from?
I find the leasing office to be extremely kind and helpful. Sounds like you like to complain and nowhere will make you happy!?

And Bed bugs? DUH-have you read on the internet they are EVERYWHERE!! Juneau Village is the largest in the state and obviously its going to have a problem here and there. Infact my neighbor got them and the problem was taken care of within 48 hours. How can they help when people are traveling back and forth to India?

The only good thing about JVT is that is has a great view over the city and there is free heat. The bads definitely outweigh the goods, as you can tell by the way this review starts out.

The rent is way to high for what this place is actually worth. 1k for a 1 bed 1 bath. Don not stay here in the winter because you will freeze you a$% off. Free heat? because there is barely any. The carpet here is dirty to begin with so there goes your deposit. The window coverings are crappy, there aren't any ceiling lighting and you cant drill in your ceiling because is concrete. This makes it impossible to hang curtains. Good luck if you get a unit that is fully equipped with everything you need because if it inst, guess what? The rent is still the same. Heated underground parking? Not very heated and on top of that it cost an additional 110 dollars.

The wall paint is so thin, that the slightest ding on the wall will ruin it. This place has 3 elevators, but yet it takes an additional 15 minutes to go downstairs. the elevators are crappy by the way and probably not big enough to fit your luxury couch in. Good luck with privacy because the walls are so thin that if someone wanted to listen to your cell phone conversation, they could. Oh, and you will wake your neighbors if you are having sex.

You apartment will reak of everyone else s dinner or simply smell like whatever the hallway smells like. The appliances here are very low budget and there are rumors of bed bugs all over the place.

If you have to call the Katz properties office, they are very very nice. If you have to visit office personnel on-site, good luck because they are very unprofessionally rude and cold (kinda like your place in the winter when there isnt enough heat to warm the place when its on max).

Bottom line, for the price you pay, this place is not worth it at all. I wish i would've looked else where.

I am very surprised to see bad reviews at all. I recently just renewed my lease and have had all good experiences. Having 2-3 people in the leasing office everyday till atleast 6 at night is just perfect and questions are never left unanswered. Everyone friendly from the office staff to the cleaning lady. Maintence problems always fixed within hours or a day. When appliances are not working correctly in the past, there was never any run around like many other places give you. When fridge was acting funny.. new one in days. Dishwasher acting up.. new one with in a day. GREAT LOCATION. A walk to the grocery store and post office? This is just perfect. Love the workout room, love the big windows, love my patio over looking the city. I will be staying at juneau village for quite sometime.

i completed my 11 months stay at JVT. I left JVT to move out to a temporary stay in the plaza hotel, to finally leave foe India.
Everything about JVT is good and is expected for the price you pay. Nothing out of the way worth noting. Condition is good because they maintain it well; and make sure you maintain it well; it's not a service they provide for the price they charge.
Parking - you won't get one, unless you request for one when you initially take the lease. There is one lot per Apt, and most of these persons have two cars.
Staff is cold; they are not polite; neither are they rude. They just do their work.
Even if you loose something in a mall here and go back to the mall after an week; there are chances that you would find the item in their lost& found section. Not the case with JVT. you stay the entire year at the place, Two days after I left the apt, I went back for a non-jvt key that I had submitted, and they had tossed the key! I thanked God since it was not that imp. key.
so, yes the apartments are good, and maintenance is good; and they better offer it; since they are fairly expensive too.
And, I don't feel they do anything more, that other Apts don't do.

I have just started my fourth year living at JVT. I just signed my lease today to upgrade to a one bedroom and could not be more happy living at JVT.

The office staff is WONDERFUL, grounds are beautiful, maintenance is respectful and friendly (and quick). I have had not problems whatsoever with my studio that I currently live in. The size of the apartments are huge compared to others that I have seen. I have had a few bug problems, but issues have been resolved VERY quickly.

Parking is expensive ($90 for an underground spot) but worth it in the winter months. The outside of the buildings are a bit dated and the common areas on the inside could use a face lift (which it seems they are working on step by step with the new furniture, etc).

The apartments are very nicely sound-proofed. The 'A' building is by far the best building of the three (the building with the leasing office). Building 'C' has a college dorm feel and building 'A' looks a lot more 'weathered' on the inside - and the apartments aren't as nice.

Hope this helps!

I actually disagree. I am Indian, and I really enjoy living at Juneau Village. I had some issues with my plumbing and before I got home from work the issues were resolved. I also like the other tenants, the summer time pool, the work out facilities, and the management is excellent. Any issue I've ever had (which wasn't many) was resolved right away, and the young ladies in the office were always very polite when I stopped in. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place downtown.

Hi
Juneau Village tower is good to stay but the Juneau management is pathetic..and in addition if you are Indian then don't expect anything from them. Juneau staff if totally raciest against Indian and treating Indian people very badly, So if you are indian and looking for Juneau..juneau is not at all for u..

Maintenance issues not resolved timely (took several visits in office to get issues such as leaky faucet & broken a/c fixed). Parking is difficult in summer because of events such as Jazz in the Park (but that is also a very positive feature). General upkeep is so-so. (It was a beautiful place, but seems as though they may be doing bare minimum to get by now.) My car stereo was stolen within last year, but not aware of any other crime in area. The number of windows in apartment is amazing.

Juneau Village is not the best of the best, but I have lived in FAR worse places. All of my maintenence issues were fixed in a timely manner, when it wasn't I was told why, and when it would be fixed. There is a slight problem with odors entering the apartment, but it was corrected. The neighbors are warm and freindly, but do have visitors that need home training.

Everything else is just about right if not bad with this apartment EXCEPT for the parking. There is a underground heated parking garage, which is highlighted as a big selling point too. When i enquired about the lease, i was shown the parking lot and was told that i have to pay extra $70 bucks per month for keeping my car there. I thought it was ok considering the location of the apartment in downtown. When i came to sign the lease, i was then told that the underground parking is not available immediately but there is a waiting list to which i will be added to and that i should get something my end of the month. There are temporary spots but u have to book a week in advance and its not always available(and did i mention that you have to pay $5 per day for it ?!). Now its more than a month and i am still being told the same story about the parking, the waiting list and blah blah blah. What is the use of have a nice place to live when u hv to always think abt moving ur car every 2 hrs or putting it in a metered parking and getting a ticket? What the **** was the management thinking when they designed the parking lot - that people will spend thousands of dollars on rent and live in this building but they will not afford a car?! or that they hv enough time to waste moving the car all around and finding a spot and thats why they prefer to be in downtown? I would rather not have signed the lease if i knew i had to spend so much time, energy and money too for the parking. So if you own a car and want peace abt the parking, live elsewhere and dont fall in trap by listening to the leasing agents stories.
