Not for families

The staff was terrible. The University advertises as being family friendly. That's far from the truth. No one who worked there was concerned in the slightest that the apartments have lead paint. The guy told me "Just make sure he (my son) doesn't put his hands in his mouth." Yeah, my son is two years old. I wasn't even told about the lead paint when I looked at the apartment. They didn't "disclose" the information until I was actually signing the lease. On top of that, behind the apartments there are swing sets that are fenced in, but no one maintains them. They're full of goatheads and tumbleweeds. The bathroom grew mold in the wood above the shower and I couldn't get rid of it. There's no ventilation, just a window. In Laramie during the winter that's just not a feasible solution. Then Residence Life told me we're required to be out two weeks from the last day of class. They never mentioned that we had to file a 60 day notice. So they charged us $200 for not filing. I just felt like they were out to make a buck. All in all, I was not impressed at all. Had I known what I was getting into, my husband and I would've looked elsewhere. <P>
