Chandler is one of the major suburbs of Phoenix, a city in the Maricopa County of Arizona state, with an estimated population of nearly 240,000. The city is a prime example of a modern urban sprawl since its population boomed to the present number from a mere 30,000 in late 1980s. It also boasts of numerous new home developments and many Chandler apartments have been erected to cater to the special needs of all professionals coming to work here.
While the city’s economy survived the Great Depression in the mid-20th century, it was not able to take the cotton crash a few years later. But it has since recovered very well with the setting of several technology firms in Chandler. The city is also home to computer chip manufacturer Intel, which enjoys a major presence in the city’s booming business sector. Some of the city’s growth has also been fuelled by manufacturing establishments and other companies like Motorola. A few years ago, city residents stepped into its very first shopping mall, a 1.3 million square foot fashion paradise. The advantage of setting up home in the Chandler apartments is that proximity to the mall and other places of entertainment is always a benefit.
Public education in most of the city is served by the Chandler Unified School District that includes over 30 different primary and secondary schools. The unified school district is further divided to enable residents to pick schools within easy access. Most of the Chandler apartments, therefore, are located close to the educational institutes. Students and parents alike will find it hard to complain about any amenities that are provided in these Chandler apartments. Besides regular schooling options, the city is also home to alternative learning centres. The Chandler Gilbert Community College is the most popular college in the city and enrolls over 13,000 students every year.
Chandler has a great cultural spirit and is still noted for its annual Ostrich Festival. Before its brush with urbanistaion, agriculture was its primary business, based on cotton, corn, and alfalfa. And during the 1910s, there were dozens of ostrich farms in the area, catering to the demand for plumes used in women’s hats of the era. However, this demand soon ebbed with changing fashion statements, but the legacy of the ostrich farms began to be commemorated by the Festival. The event even has a mini-parade that passes through most Chandler apartments’ and offers the residents a great opportunity to watch.
Chandler is a great community to live in with an interesting mix of history and culture. Not many people are aware that the city is home to the Williams Air Force Base that was responsible for a big surge in its population in the 1940s. But more than anything else, it is the promise of great living spaces by the Chandler apartments that attracts dozens of settlers to make their homes in the city. Chandler is a fairly inexpensive place to live. You can find a one-bedroom, one bath apartment for around $650 per month. If you are looking to rent a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, you can find one for around $850.
