Irvine is an incorporated city in California State’s Orange County. It was formally incorporated in 1971 and covers an area of 46 square miles with an estimated population of 202,050 people. In fact it is a planned city, mainly developed by the Irvine Company. The city is now in the process of annexing an undeveloped area in the north. It has already acquired the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, most of which is to be made into a park called the Orange Country Great Park. This is going to become a major tourist attraction in the city and is likely to have a large appeal among the residents too.
