101 San Fernando is all about downtown living. Any city's downtown has pluses for ease of access to shopping, restaurants and business and in this case San Jose State University. Access to public transportation is easy and 101 San Fernando is in the heart of the historic section downtown. Downtown also has its minuses: a large student population means a little noisier community inside and fire and police responses mean a noisier outside. I really like this unique contemporary living arrangement within Japan Town and the great coffee and restaurant places all right here. The apartment layouts are modern and well thought out and the semi-industrial location is in a great spot in San Jose. I have lived in all kinds of apartments in various kinds of locations...downtown, on town outskirts, in refurbished industrial and in refurbished historic. Esplanade is better than downtown because it is in a quieter location but it has all the same kind of features. A quick drive down North 1st Street takes you to downtown San Jose, an exciting town that houses San Jose State University. Opinions on the staff are mixed - while many tenants find the management to be lacking and unresponsive, others have found the staff to be attentive and the facilities to be accommodating.
