Newport Square is situated beside North Academy Boulevard and is 6 miles away from the charming and historic Old Colorado City. Residents can travel to the nearby Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Pioneers Museum, or the Peterson Air & Space Museum Foundation. Military residents have a short commute to the United States Air Force Academy in the northern edge of the city or the Peterson Airforce Base in the south. In spite of the location, occupants disapprove of the Coppperhead Road Honkey Tonk Saloon across the street and feel that the area, along with the maintenance of the apartment complex, has declined in recent years. Greentree Village Apartments are situated right next to Village Green Park and its softball field, perfect for residents in search of outdoor activities close to home. Penrose Community Urgent Care is also down the street, ideal for any employees. Tenants with children attending Penrose Elementary will be happy to hear the school is within walking distance. North Academy Boulevard offers several bus stops and a variety of eateries near the property.
