St. Louis is a fair sized city but this complex feels like the suburbs. Black Forest apartments are surrounded by acres of trees that buffer out the sounds and sights of more city-like living. Traffic noise is minimal. The construction of the units is a little dated but they are well kept up by a good maintenance staff and older construction means the walls are a little thicker ~ another plus on the quiet side. Brazilia Apartments is situated right of I-55 S near the South County Center. Residents are within minutes of amazing shopping and dining. Shop at places like Sears, Rue 21, and Dillard's or dine at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, Orange Julius, or Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill. Maintenance responds quickly and works efficiently to make repair. Canyon Creek Apartments stands next to I-55, a short commute to downtown St. Louis. A perfect in between, the apartments are just far enough from the city to escape the city noise, but close enough in case you need to get there fast. Reviewers enjoy the community, the staff, and the affordable rent. Many tenants complain about the quality of the apartments and believe the foundation is lacking, but agree that the price is fair. Black Forest Apartments sits next to Cliff Cave County Park, just off of I-55. Positioned close enough to St. Louis to get there when you need to and far enough away to miss all of the city noise. Leaseholders have the choice between a number of private and public schools in the area. A swimming pool is available to renters during the summer. Past residents spoke of dysfunctional dryers and a maintenance staff that didn't resolve issues quickly enough. Overall, reviewers liked Black Forest Apartments, especially for the reasonable price. Port Apartments is located on Deloak Drive, right off of Baumgartner Road and within minutes of the St. Louis County Library. It's an easy commute to downtown and a number of bus stops are available in the region. There is a large number of restaurants in the area for residents to dine at like the St. Louis Bread Co., Garvey's Grill, Papa Murphy's Take n' Bake.
